On Thursday 23rd Reception children will be taking part in Elmer day, so they are invited to wear multicoloured clothes to school to celebrate 35 years of Elmer. We welcome the rest of the children to wear comfy clothes for Book Trust and can bring their favourite book to school, to share with their peers. £1.00 donations will be going to our charity of choice.

Earlsdon Primary School

As you may have seen in the media over recent days, members of the National Education Union (NEU) are due to take industrial action across the country in relation to the national pay agreement and how this should be funded by government, rather than by schools. The proposed dates for strike action by NEU members are:

• Wednesday 1 February 2023 (National)
• Wednesday 1 March 2023 (West Midlands)
• Wednesday 15 March 2023 (National)
• Thursday 16 March 2023 (National).

We are currently in the process of assessing the impact any industrial action will have on staffing levels at our school. It is possible that full or partial school closures may be necessary, although we are doing everything possible to ensure the school remains open in line with DfE guidance and LA advice. You may
wish to consider making alternative childcare arrange
ments for these dates as a precautionary measure,
even though they may not be needed.

We are working closely with our NEU colleagues to
ensure we are updated with the most accurate
staffing information and will write to you as soon as
possible.

Thank you for your support and understanding at this
challenging time.
