EPS Online Safety Policy

Our pupils are growing up in a world surrounded by technology. The use of technology, including the internet, is an integral element of life and therefore forms an important part of our learning in school.

The use of technology can have a positive impact on our lives but we cannot ignore the risks that can be associated. It is our duty to teach our children the importance of being safe online and to provide them with the skills to do this themselves.

In school we use a filtering system to prevent children accessing inappropriate sites. We also have regular activities to remind children of the importance of keeping themselves safe online. We recognise the challenges that families face as children often have access to a wide variety of devices when they are at home such as mobile phones and games consoles. To support parents we hold regular online safety meetings and provide support through additional information and guides.
