Refugee Week

The children have taken part in lots of activities this week linked to refugees and asylum seekers; they learnt a lot from listening to the real-life story of a Syrian refugee. In Year 6, we looked at media headlines and how language can be used to influence how people think about refugees, we then compared myths with truths. Children also looked at poems written by refugees and discussed the impact of being labelled 'refugee'.
