We will be holding a parents workshop on Thursday 30th January at 5pm. The session will be led by West Midlands Police and will focus on raising parents awareness of the dangers and possible consequences of children accessing the internet if appropriate safety measures and monitoring are not put in place. The session is extremely relevant and important for all primary school parents as school and West Midlands Police are seeing an increase in primary school age children getting involved with things online or accessing things they shouldn’t. Throughout the session PCSO Chater will give tips and strategies that parents can use to make the online space a safer place for their children. Some of the topics included in the parents workshop are listed below:
•Apps and appropriate ages
• Children sharing inappropriate images
•Gaming
•Grooming and radicalisation
• The dark web
• Settings
•Digital footprint
Please put the date in your diary and look out for more information in January.
We were pleased to welcome Heart of England Community Rail Partnership this week who brought in the finished Rail200 banner created by our pupils and pupils from a Warwickshire school. We are looking forward to taking part in many events next year to celebrate 200 years of the railway.
Thank you to our Welcome Committee who have been working hard all term to welcome new pupils to our school. They held a special party to make sure that all new students had a positive and happy end to their first term with us.
Our house teams have been working hard to win house points all term. We have seen a brilliant attitude to our school rules with many children going over and above to make our school so special. The winning house this term was the green team, who enjoyed a treat of hot chocolate with marshmallows and light-up bingo.
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported the fundraising to build a learning shelter at the allotment. We have raised money from our Millsy's Takeover Pizza Nights and from the Winter Wreath Making event. We would also like to say a very big thank you to Agema Engineering for their very generous donation this week. We are over halfway to raising the £6000 that is needed to build the shelter that will be used for science investigations, shelter for seedlings and community events.

Congratulations to our athletics team who have been training hard for the School Games tournament. They had one of our strongest performances to date and we came a very close second overall.
Our choir have had a very busy week! They sang at the Resource Centre for the Blind in Earlsdon which was very much appreciated. They also took part in the Coventry Music Christmas Concert at the Central Methodist Hall on Monday night. It was a pleasure to join with eight other Coventry schools and the instrumentalists at this festive event.
