Last week the Reception children enjoyed making some flapjacks with Mr Kumar our school chef. The flapjacks included berries which had been harvested from the school allotment. They were fun to make and tasted delicious! Thank you to Mr Kumar for taking time out during his busy day to support the children’s learning.

Many thanks to all the families who have booked tables at our Millsy's Takeover Pizza Night. We are delighted that so many families are able to support this event. Due to a very high demand for tickets, Millsy's have offered us the opportunity to run this on a second night - Thursday 7th November. If you have requested tickets you will receive an email asking if you would like to keep your original request or if you are able to change to the 8th November.
We were invited to participate in an art project linked to the 200th anniversary of the railway and how this invention has influenced the UK. Katie O and pupils have co-created artwork to be displayed on a mural. This will be exhibited at a celebration of 5 years of the Heart of England Community Rail Partnership taking place at the Royal Pump Rooms in Leamington Spa, and it will also travel around Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull during 2025 for events when Railway 200 is being celebrated. The children have created some fabulous artwork for this.
We are delighted to announce that the Scholastic Travelling Book Fair will be n school from Wednesday 6th November until Wednesday 20nd November. Having a book shop in school is always an exciting event for the children– each class will have the opportunity to visit the book shop and the children will be able to browse and buy books with their classmates during the school day. A letter with more information will be sent home to parents shortly –money raised by the book fair enables school to purchase more books for class libraries. Thank you in advance for your support with these additional events
As part of our Harvest celebrations we will be collecting items for the warm welcome space in Earlsdon Library. The library is at the heart of our community and we would like to support them in helping people who appreciate a hot drink and a snack during the cold winter months. If you feel able to make a small donation, we will be collecting teabags, coffee, pot noodles, cuppa soups and individually wrapped biscuits from Monday 21st – Wednesday 23rd October; the children will deliver the donations to the library before half term. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
Our Pastoral Team enjoyed meeting parents this morning at our Coffee Morning!
Look out for the next event!
On the 24th September, we embarked on a long coach journey to Plas Dol-y-Moch. The journey started off brilliantly. Beautiful views were all around us and our school got smaller and smaller in the distance and we entered the countryside. Eventually, we reached the site and stared in amazement at where we would be staying for the next few nights. On our first morning, we sprang to our feet and hurried down to breakfast. In the common room, we were told our activities for the day and then we set off. The next few days consisted of mountain-climbing, mine exploring, beach fun, kayaking, orienteering and an independent walk. Some of us even did the famous Dol-y-Moch dive! There were also things like making our own lunch, tuck shop and a gift shop on the last night! Before we knew it, we were all packed and it was time to go. Dol-y-Moch was such an amazing experience and we all had so much fun. Written by Bronwen and Anika
We are very excited to be working with Millsy's Restaurant on a project that links our allotment, our careers programme and fundraising. A group of pupils in Years 4 and 5 are running a Pizza Night at Millsy's on 6 th November which will use food grown by pupils at our allotment. The children are working in four teams - marketing, graphic design, chefs and front of house. On Thursday the cooking team worked with a professional chef to start preparing sauce and toppings for the pizzas. Look out for posters from the graphic design team with details about how to book a table.
