Many thanks to everyone for supporting us to make end of the day collection procedures safer for children. We are delighted that children are all being collected on time. Please note that we don’t make phone calls home for children who aren’t collected. These children are given a place at after school club and should be collected from the side entrance.
We have quite a lot of children who are arriving late to school in the morning. If your child is only a few minutes late: - they don’t start the day calmly as they have to rush to get into class - they miss extra adult support and the start of learning. Also our office staff have to manually add late children to our registration system. This often means that our office staff lose up to half an hour in total each day processing late arrivals.
Please get your child into good habits for secondary school, help them start the day calmly and help our office staff by arriving on time. Thank you!
We will be running two sessions for parents in Reception to introduce them to our phonics scheme—Little Wandle. These are very informative sessions and will help you to support your child with learning to read. The sessions are either Thursday 13 November 4-5pm or Tuesday 18 November 9-10am. We look forward to seeing you at one of the sessions.
Year 4 represented the school at Coventry Schools' Remembrance Service at the War Memorial Park on Wednesday. A special thank you to the Coventry Young Ambassadors who greet?ed schools and special visitors.
Please save the date for our first ever allotment winter lights trail. This will take place on 4th and 5th December after school. It will include a magical light trail at our allotments and also a visit to Santa. Warm refreshments will be available. Tickets will be limited and will be going on sale next week
Please join us at the allotment for an afternoon of winter wreath making. This will be a relaxing session with refreshments provided. There will be a separate session for children. Pre-booking is essential as there are a very limited number of places. The event will take place on Saturday 6th December 2-3.30pm.
As part of our commitment to being a school that promotes active and healthy lifestyles, we have linked with Junior Parkrun. This takes place every Sunday at the War Memorial Park. We will be inviting families to join us there as part of a school group on the last Sunday of every month in term time. Following the children’s run, you will be welcome to come back to school to join us for sausage and vegetarian sausage sandwiches, pastries and hot drinks. Our first session will be on Sunday 30th November. We will be sending a form out to ask if you are intending to come and if you hope to come back to school for refreshments. This will help the PTA with buying the food.
