  • Sport News

    Mon 16 Mar 2026

Many pupils have participated in a wide range of sports tournaments this year and we’re very pleased that Earlsdon is one of the schools who attend most tournaments in the city.

Our Year 6 Sports Hall Athletics Team won their heat and then went on to be Coventry West Plate Competition Winners. In rowing our boys and our mixed teams were Coventry West Champions and our girls team came second.

We were recently awarded the Equal Access School Award for our commitment to inclusivity in sport and for offering equal opportunities. These are in addition to our successes in table tennis and our fabulous participation in Junior ParkRun.

We would like to say a big thank you to Sparta-Fitness for allowing us to use their gym for training. Craig and Michelle have helped to train, motivate and advise the teams playing a big part in their success.

We also know that pupils take part in a wide range of sports outside school including swimming, cheerleading, rugby, boxing, dance and much more. Well done to everyone for being active!

  • Parent Events

    Mon 16 Mar 2026

We have been delighted to welcome parents into school for a a wide range of events this week. It was so lovely to see so many Mums and Grandmas at the Reception classes Mothers Day Assembly, where they were treated to lovely singing and thoughtful messages.

We are very grateful to the parents who have supported Aspirations Week by coming in to talk to
    the children about their jobs.

Thank you to the parents who attended our phonics session—parental engagement in learning plays a huge part in children’s academic success.

  • National Science Week

    Mon 16 Mar 2026

We recently celebrated National Science Week in school with some exciting activities. Prizes and certificates were
awarded to pupils who took part in our interschool Padlet competition, recognising their creativity and scientific thinking. We also officially launched our School Science Fair competition, which we hope will inspire many more young scientists to get involved.

Details about the Science Fair have been shared with families and pupils. Anyone who would like to take part should
first complete a proposal form and hand it to their class teacher by Friday 20th March. After that, pupils can enjoy
working on their science project and preparing their investigation. Completed projects must be brought into school
    on Monday 20th April.

We can’t wait to see the wonderful investigations and the thoughtful scientific questions our pupils explore!

  • Reading celebration

    Wed 11 Mar 2026

We’ve all enjoyed celebrating World Book Day throughout the last two weeks. The children have visited Earlsdon library, enjoyed sharing their favourite books with another class in school, visited the preloved book sale, listened to and been inspired by visiting authors, participated in live online World Book Day events and of course dressed up as their favourite book characters. In addition, classroom doors have been decorated as favourite class books and have stimulated much interest and discussion. Thank you for your support in helping the children to dress up, for donating costumes and books and encouraging the children to visit the preloved book sale.

  • Park Run

    Mon 02 Mar 2026

Has your child taken part in ParkRun yet? It’s a great start to
the day on a Sunday morning and it’s totally free of charge.
Children are allowed to run, jog or walk and there is no pressure to be fast.

Join us this Sunday for our monthly school ParkRun at the
    War Memorial Park.

You are welcome to meet at school at 8.30am to walk to the
park or you are welcome to meet us there at 8.45am (near
    the play park).

After the run we open the school for a family breakfast where
the PTA sell delicious breakfast batches for only £2.50.

  • World Book Day

    Mon 02 Mar 2026

t’s World Book Day on Thursday!

We work hard to promote a love of reading for pleasure throughout the school year and will be celebrating this national event with a range of activities. Already this week families and children enjoyed wonderful library sessions where
they were able to choose their free World Book Day book. Many thanks to Earlsdon Library for hosting this.

Thank you to the families who have already donated dressing up costumes by adding them to the preloved clothing
    rail in the entrance area.

If you have any costumes your children have outgrown, please send them into school by Tuesday so families can access them in time for World Book Day on Thursday.

During World Book Day we will also be holding a 50p book sale so the children can buy some new books to enjoy at home. Please help by donating unwanted picture books, chapter books, novels and comic.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
