On Thursday 23rd Reception children will be taking part in Elmer day, so they are invited to wear multicoloured clothes to school to celebrate 35 years of Elmer. We welcome the rest of the children to wear comfy clothes for Book Trust and can bring their favourite book to school, to share with their peers. £1.00 donations will be going to our charity of choice.

  • PTA update and Christmas card orders

    Mon 16 Nov 2020

The children should have brought home an order form showing their Christmas card design. Their design can be used to order cards, gift tags and mugs by going to sforders.co.uk and entering their 12 letter code. The online shop for our school is open until midnight on Wednesday 18th November (please ignore the date on the order forms) and all orders must be placed by
this date/time. Orders will then be printed and delivered to school. If you need to correct any of your child's details, this can be done when ordering. If your child is not currently in school and you would like their form to be emailed to you, please
contact the PTA at http://earlsdonpta@outlook.com or via their Facebook page (EarlsdonSchoolPTA), stating your child's name and class. Please also contact the PTA if you have any problems with the order process, or would like to place an order but are unable to do so online.

  • Covid-19 Update

    Mon 16 Nov 2020

Thank you for your ongoing support during this second national lockdown. Please help to keep our community safe by socially distancing at the beginning and end of the school day when you are waiting to drop off or collect your child/ children.
To support our COVID risk assessment and ensure that the school building is well ventilated, we will be keeping windows and doors open in school. Please ensure that the children come to school wearing their school sweatshirts and warm clothing on their P.E days (in the school colours).

  • Free School Meals

    Mon 16 Nov 2020

Even if your child prefers a home packed lunch or has a free lunch provided by school (as all Reception, Year 1 and 2 pupils receive meals through different funding) it is important that you register for Free School Meals if you are in receipt of the agreed benefits. Please contact the school if you need any
more information about this. School is allocated additional funding that can be spent on additional staff to support the children as well as providing financial support to families for
school trips and other activities. Registering for FSM will also ensure that your family receive free school meal support during school holidays. Please take the time to apply. Should you apply and qualify, your child will still be able to have a home packed lunch should they wish to do so and therefore not have to have free school meals in school.

    Apply at: www.coventry.gov.uk/applyforfreeschoolmeals

  • Starting school in September 2021

    Mon 09 Nov 2020

Due to the restrictions of COVID and in an effort to protect our children, staff and school community, we will not be holding our usual open mornings for prospective families for reception
classes in September 2021. We understand that this is an important decision for families and so we will be offering online parents meetings. The first two dates are 9th November at 4pm
    and 25th November at 2pm.

Please share these dates with friends and family members and
encourage them to register their interest by emailing: admin@earlsdon.coventry.sch.uk

In addition, if you go to the Key Information tab at the top of the website, here you will find a link to Admissions - Rising Fives, here you will find a video about our school.

  • PTA update

    Mon 09 Nov 2020

Thank you to the PTA who have kindly donated £150 to each year group to spend on toys and wet playtime activities. The PTA have also arranged for the children to design their own Christmas cards this year and the children’s drawings were sent off to be scanned during the half term holiday. The PTA are currently waiting for the order forms to be sent to school and once these are received the children will bring them home and parents can order and pay on line. The Christmas
cards will then be delivered to school. Please look out for your child's order form over the next few days. The PTA will be holding their online AGM at 1.30pm on 11th November. Please email earlsdonpta@outlook.com or contact them via Facebook if you would like to attend and a meeting invite will be sent to
    you.

  • Children In Need

    Mon 09 Nov 2020

The focus of this national event this year is ‘5 ways to
wellbeing’. We will be thinking about this throughout next week and encouraging the children to come to school wearing spots or Pudsey bear colours. Rather than asking for the children to bring a small donation into school, Children in Need are encouraging parents to make a donation using this online link:

    https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/BBCCiNPrimary

Thank you for your continued support and generosity.

  • Poppy display

    Mon 09 Nov 2020
A huge thank you to Sue Francis for all of her hard work and effort in planning, preparing and displaying the children’s
poppies. Thank you also to the PTA for paying for the resources to ensure that each class could contribute. It is certainly
an eye catching feature at the front of our school and has generated lots of discussion and comments from our neighbours
    and from further afield!
