Thank you to the families who very kindly donated some toys to the Toys 4 Life charity. The charity very gratefully collected several bags from school. Thank you for your kindness and generosity
The Year 4 and Year 5 children represented the school very
well on Monday morning at the School’s Remembrance
Service at War Memorial Park.
Year 5 enjoyed a fantastic introduction to engineering morning
at Warwick University this week. They learnt how to think like
engineers and they took part in several practical challenges.
The university were very impressed with their engagement
and problem solving abilities.
Monday 13th November marks the start of Anti Bullying Week and this year’s theme is ‘Make a Noise about Bullying’. We are inviting the children to wear odd socks to school on Monday to celebrate what makes us all unique. (If your child wears tights to school,
we would like to encourage them to pop their odd socks on top
of their tights!).
We would like to say a very big thank you to Fusion
Sport for their generous donation of fifty footballs to the school.
As part of Coventry's Peace Festival, we were delighted to
welcome Marc Gwamaka to the school. Marc is responsible for
youth leadership programmes in Rwanda for the Aegis Trust.
Marc met with children and discussed the importance of being
a peacemaker. Marc is delivering the Lord Mayor's Peace Lecture
on Friday at St Mary's Guildhall.
Due to ongoing health issues we are saying farewell to Mrs Griffiths this week. Mrs Griffiths has taught at Earlsdon for 20 years and has enjoyed working with many children, families and colleagues. We wish her a healthy and happy future. We are also saying farewell to Miss James who has worked in the after school club for the last 5 years. We wish her every happiness in her future endeavours.
Congratulations to our dodgeball team who represented the school at a School Games tournament on Monday. Their behaviour was exemplary, and they demonstrated our school value of respect throughout the competition. They were delighted to be bronze medal winners. Well done!
Pupils have enjoyed reading for pleasure in our first pop-up library of the year. Some books that children have enjoyed in our Halloween hideaway are A Tangle of Spells by Michelle Harrison and Ghost Games by Jenni Jennings
Thank you to everyone who completed the homework project and made poppies for our school display– we were delighted to receive so many. Thank you also to Mrs Francis for sup porting this project and using the poppies to create two beautiful wreaths which will be displayed outside school. We also have a display in the main school entrance area.
