  • Year 6 Dol y Moch

    Wed 11 Oct 2023
We are very proud of the Year 6 children who
enjoyed a four night stay at Dol y Moch in North Wales– they returned home on Tuesday. The children enjoyed a range of adventurous activities, worked collaboratively, challenged them
selves and demonstrated resilience and increased independence. Thank you to the staff who accompanied Year 6 and were willing to give up their evenings and weekend to ensure our children had this amazing opportunity

  • Poppy Appeal

    Wed 11 Oct 2023
This year for our school balcony poppy display we would like
all children to have a go at making a waterproof poppy (if pos
sible, using recycled materials) which will be made into a
whole school wreath. This will be set as a homework task and
we would love all children to get involved. We would like the
children to give their finished poppy to their class teacher by
Monday 16th October at the latest. Thank you for your support
and we look forward to seeing the children’s creations

  • Outdoor Play

    Sat 23 Sep 2023
We plan to take the children outside during playtime and at lunchtime, even when there is light rain. To enable the children to play freely with their friends, please send them to school with a named waterproof coat each
    day– thank you.

  • Routines

    Sat 23 Sep 2023
Thank you to all of the families who have made a huge effort to ensure the children are in school and ready to learn by 8.55am.
Thank you also for your patience at the end of the school day– we are working hard to ensure all of the children are ready (with all of their belongings) to be collected at
3.15pm. To help everything to run smoothly when the site is very congested, we would like to remind parents to follow the one way system around the building, across the play ground and to exit through the car park gate

  • Peace Day

    Sat 23 Sep 2023
The International Day of Peace is observed around the world each
year on 21 September. Established in 1981, Peace Day provides a
globally shared date for all humanity to commit to peace above all
differences and to contribute to building a culture of peace.
Children in school spent time reflecting in our Peace Garden; look
ing at our Peace Pole and stones with messages of peace and rec
    onciliation.

  • Attendance

    Mon 18 Sep 2023

DfE guidance stresses the importance of good attendance for all
children to support their attainment, wellbeing and wider life
chances. When a child’s attendance falls below 90% this is a cause for concern for schools and local authorities– 10% absence equates to a child being absent for 1 day or more a fortnight across a full school year. DfE guidance also states that leave of absence should only be granted in exceptional circumstances, and as such holidays taken
during term time will not be authorised. If leave of absence is unauthorised by the school, the government requires the school to follow up such absences with a Penalty Notice Fine of £60 to each parent and for each child. (Collection of the fine is not administered by the school and the money collected is not given to the school.) If a parent thinks that their leave of absence request is due to exceptional circumstances, they should contact school without delay and before arrangements are entered
into or money is committed. A leave of absence request form is available from the school office or from the website
