We will be holding a parents workshop on Thursday 29th January at 5pm.
The session will be led by West Midlands Police and will focus on raising parents awareness of the dangers and possible consequences of children accessing the internet if appropriate safety measures and monitoring are not put in place.
The session is extremely relevant and important for all primary school parents as school and West Midlands Police are seeing an increase in primary school age children getting involved with things online or accessing things they shouldn’t.
Throughout the session PCSO Chater will give tips and strategies that parents can use to make the online space a safer place for their children. Some of the topics included in the parents workshop are listed below:
• Apps and appropriate ages
• Children sharing inappropriate images
• Gaming
• Grooming and radicalisation
• The dark web
• Settings
• Digital footprint
Please put the date in your diary and look out for more information in January.
Many thanks to the PTA for organising the Christmas discos that will take place on Tuesday 16 December.

Year 5 and 6 should be brought to the main entrance at 5.30pm and be collected from the car park gate at 6.15pm.
We have had a wonderful week with Key Stage 1 and Reception Christmas performances. Well done to all children for beautiful singing. We have heard them practising for a few weeks and it was magical to see them perform to friends and families.
We would like to say a special thank you to Penny and the Methodist Church for giving us such a warm welcome for rehearsals and performances.
Thank you to all families who have been able to support the children by attending performances at this busy time of year.
Pupils in 5W had a fantastic time on Wednesday participating in an international Christmas concert arranged by colleagues in Japan. They collaborated with schools in Japan, Indonesia, The Philip-pines, Finland and Canada. The children enjoyed performing Christmas and traditional songs, as well as joining in with a shared rendition of We Wish You a Merry Christmas at the end.
Year 3 enjoyed an exciting afternoon of Roman workshops led by stu-dents from the University of Warwick. The children learned all about life in Roman times, with a special focus on Roman food. They even had the chance to taste some traditional recipes, including Roman melon salad and Roman pancakes! Another session focused on archaeology, where the children eagerly got stuck in, digging through sandboxes to uncover scans of real Roman artefacts discovered at Lunt Roman Fort. They explored Roman coins and even designed their own. The hands-on activities were a great success, and the children were enthusiastic and fully engaged throughout the afternoon.
We are very grateful to the PTA for organising the Christmas discos for Years 1-6. The discos will take place after school on Tuesday 16th December.
Due to the Year 1 and 2 disco taking place immediately after school, pupils in Year 1 and 2 only can wear dis-co/party clothes to school on 16th December. Children in Year
A big thank you to our choir who performed twice at the weekend once at Coventry Vision Hub and once at the Earlsdon Library Christmas Fair. A group of children also performed at the Dementia Day Centre and another group are going back to the Vision Hub to sing at their Christmas lunch. Many thanks to Mr Hook.
A huge thank you to all the families who sup-ported the Junior Parkrun event on Sunday. It was amazing to see so many of our children participating.
A really massive thank you to our wonderful PTA who cooked 120 delicious sausage sandwiches for the family breakfast!
Junior Parkrun takes place every Sunday. We will be doing our next school run on Sunday 25 January.
Thank you very much to everyone who supported the allotment light trail this week. We really appreciate the support of a huge team of staff and parent volunteers.
Our allotment plays a key role in our school and in our science learning. We urgently need volunteers to help with various jobs over the winter months including digging beds, pruning and maintenance. If you are free, please come along on Saturday 3rd January 10am—12pm.
No experience needed. If you are unable to help on this date, please let us know and we will be in touch about the next date.
We were delighted to welcome Coventry’s Bishop Sophie Jelley to school this week. Bishop Sophie is the tenth Bishop of Coventry since the modern Diocese of Coventry was established in 1918. She has made history as the first woman to be Bishop of Coventry.
Bishop Sophie enjoyed meeting the children and learning about our work. She was particularly inter-ested in our peace education programme and our Schools of Sanctuary work.
We were able to share with her the importance of developing our children as responsible members of the community.
