CineCov
Fri 08 Jul 2022Year 3 pupils enjoyed working with CineCov this week. They took part in an initiative led by artist Chanel Hill and they have created
part of a piece of art that will be put together with artwork from other schools, forming one large scale painting. We are looking
forward to seeing the final result -
Royal Opera House
Fri 08 Jul 2022We were very proud of all pupils in Year 4, 5 and 6 who took part in a Royal Opera House showcase performance
at Coventry Cathedral. The children had the opportunity to
perform the work they have been doing linked to Romeo and
Juliet. It was lovely to see the children's dance work in such a fantastic setting. -
Commonwealth Games Tiny Forest
Fri 08 Jul 2022A group of children were invited to Corpus Christi Primary School to participate in a Severn Trent science workshop linked
to the tiny forest that we helped to plant earlier this
year. They explored carbon capture and biodiversity. It was great to see how much the forest hasgrown already! -
Sports Day
Fri 08 Jul 2022We were very proud of our Reception children as they took part in their first school Sports Day this week.They participated in a wide range of activities including hurdles, javelin and relay races. Our Year 6 pupils did a fantastic job of leading the activities. Well done!
We are all looking forward to Sports day for Year 1—Year 6 children on Tuesday and hope you can join us at
King Henry V111 school from 10am. Please ensure the children are wearing their school P.E kit on Tuesday and have a water bottle with them. Thank you

Sensory Garden
Fri 08 Jul 2022We were delighted to welcome George Marsh from Arden Estates to officially open our sensory garden on Wednesday. Arden Estates kindly donated £500 to support this project and we were delighted that George could visit school for the opening ceremony. We have been shortlisted in the top ten of a national competition which challenges primary school children to make art from recycled plastic bottle tops. Composite Prime and National Schools Partnership have run the com
petition to inspire children to consider the impact of plastic pollution. The winner with the most votes will be awarded a playground makeover worth £5000. Our children would really

Mon 04 Jul 2022My name is Maggie and my daughter is in Reception.
In March 2022 I took part in 10K run to raise funds for
UNICEF UK supporting Ukrainian children. To continue fundraising for this cause (and also for all children in need) I made a plea to take part in one organised 10K run per month until at least the end of 2022.

The Tempest
Mon 04 Jul 2022Year 2 continued their work on The Tempest
this week by working with environmental artist Ros Ingram.
They worked with clay to create some of the characters from the play. They will be continuing their work with Ros later this term. After this, their work will be displayed in the Shakespeare houses in Stratford over the summer. This project has been made possible through our partnership with the Shakespeare
Birthplace Trust.

Warwick University
Mon 04 Jul 2022On Tuesday Year 5 had a fantastic day at Warwick University learning about engineering and taking part in
some practical workshops focusing on the design process. They learnt about Sierpinski triangles and used this knowledge to build a giant fractal pyramid.

New Reception for September 2022
Mon 04 Jul 2022We are looking forward to meeting parents of the new reception cohort (September 2022) on Monday at 6pm. This parents information meeting will be held in school so families can see the reception classrooms (please note that this meeting is not suitable for children). We will then be welcoming the children to a
‘Stay and Play’ session on either Friday 8th July or Friday 15th July from 1.45- 2.30pm. The Stay and Play sessions will be held outdoors (weather dependant) in the reception outdoor classroom and on the playground.

Catering Update
Mon 04 Jul 2022We are delighted to inform you that we have appointed a
new catering manager who joined our staff team on Monday.
Mr Kumar is looking forward to getting to know the children,
staff and parents. After some discussions with the children,
he will be developing new menus for the new academic year.
He is also keen to hear your views; please send your thoughts
