Commonwealth Connections
Well done to our Commonwealth Games Changemakers who attended training at Corpus Christi Primary School this week. They were busy planning a Festival of Sport with
five other schools. They also led activities at a Commonwealth Games Family Fitness event at Howes Primary School.
Commonwealth Games Official Visit
We were delighted to welcome the Honourable Minister Siakalima, Education Minister Zambia, to Earlsdon today. He
was visiting the UK on an official visit and he made a special request to visit our school to learn about our Commonwealth Games project and our link with Zambia. We look forward to sharing some photographs after the half term holiday
These colourful umbrellas have been designed by the ADHD foundation to to represent the one in five of us who have a neurodevelopmental condition. Well done George on all of your fundraising, we cannot wait to see these displayed in school - watch this space!
| The term dates have been recently agreed by the school governors and a copy has been sent home to parents |
A huge well done to the Year 5 pupils who took part in a city centre performance linked to our Commonwealth Games project.
They worked extremely hard on their performance that focused on the theme of Coventry being a city of welcome. Thank you to all of the parents who supported and came to watch the children on Saturday
Please remember to label the children’s cardigans and sweatshirts.
As the weather improves the children are more likely to remove their cardigans and sweatshirts and forget where they
have left them. Unfortunately, if their jumpers, sweatshirts and cardigans are unnamed, we are unable to return them to the correct child. Thank you for your ongoing support
| Look out for Earlsdon pupils in the final City of Culture Pa rade in the city centre on Saturday between 1-3pm. You can access more information about the parade and other events over the weekend on the City Council website. We will be in the first section which is entitled 'Welcome!' |
We will be celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee in school on Friday 27th May. During the day the children will be learning about Queen Elizabeth II and her 70 years service as
Queen of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth.
To make this day more special we would like to invite the children to come to school wearing red, white and/ or blue.
(This non uniform day is optional and we are keen that parents do not incur any additional costs–please do not buy anything especially for your child to wear on the day.)
"Earlsdon Primary School is delighted to announce that we have been awarded a Local School Nature Grant, thanks to players of the People's Postcode Lottery. Our pupils will be benefitting from log seats which will be used to make our sensory garden a more comfortable learning space. In addition staff will receive training to help children learn outdoors and bring gardening into the curriculum. Pupils played an important role in applying for the grant and selected equipment that they felt would benefit their peers. The project is run by Learning through Landscapes and funded by People's Postcode Lottery, Postcode Neighbourhood Trust, Postcode Places Trust, Postcode Society Trust, Postcode Local Trust or Postcode Community Trust all of who which receives funding from players of People's Postcode Lottery."
A big ‘well done’ to all of the Earlsdon catering staff team who
received a 5 Star Rating from the recent Environmental Health Inspection. Our kitchen team work very hard behind the scenes to ensure that our children are fed not only well but safely.
We are really proud of all they do!
