Many of our children speak other languages at home, and we are very impressed with their language skills. Lucas (1H) speaks Portuguese and has just won a UK-wide competition for the best
video made in Portuguese about a children's book.
He received a special prize from the Portuguese Ambassador.
Parabéns, Lucas
We are very proud of our year 6 children and sorry to be saying farewell to them as they leave Earlsdon and move onto their new secondary schools. The children have enjoyed a few end of year events such as a day at Rough Close and a trip to the West Midlands Safari Park. Year 6 confidently performed the Iliad as their end of year play and this was recorded and
shared with their families– well done year 6.
The children are joining a variety of secondary schools including Finham Park, Finham 2, Coundon Court, West Coventry Academy, Stratford Grammar, Barrs Hill, King Henry V111, Blue Coat, President Kennedy, Exhall Grange, Kenilworth, Westwood, Southam, Nicholas Chamberlain and Bablake. We are very proud of everything they have achieved and know they will be an asset to their new schools!
School uniform
As you start to think about the new academic year, we wanted to take this opportunity to remind families of our school and P.E uniform. Please remember to label all of your children’s school uniform- our lost property box is overflowing with unnamed school sweatshirts, cardigans and P.E hoodies.
School shoes
Please remember, before you buy new shoes for your child/ children, that they should be wearing black shoes
without any colours or logos. If you are buying a ‘trainer’ style school shoes, please ensure they are completely
black– we have been seeing school shoes with coloured stripes and soles on a daily basis this term.
P.E kit
We would like to take this opportunity to remind parents that the children should be wearing a P.E kit in our school colours. Please ensure that they wear plain navy, black or grey shorts or jogging bottoms, a plain white t-shirt and a plain navy, black or grey sweatshirt or hoodie. We do not want parents to have any additional expense. In preparing the children for their P.E sessions and as such would like to suggest that the children wear their school uniform sweatshirt/ cardigan, a school white t-shirt and plain shorts or jogging bottoms on P.E days.
In addition, please do not buy trainers specifically for P.E lessons– they can use the trainers they already have
Congratulations if your son / daughter is starting a place at our school. We are very excited to meet them!
You should have now received your information pack with your home visit date and time, alongside your son / daughters class teacher.
In addition, you should have had an email from the school office about the School Gateway account and booking OSC slots.

A huge thank you to our Year 3 Coventry Young Ambassadors who spoke at the 100th Anniversary of the Memorial Park, we are so proud of you and your new role within our school.
A huge thank you to our community for getting behind us and helping us win our Gala tent. A huge congratulations to our pupil who designed the winning entry. We are thrilled with our tent and are so thankful for the support that we have had.
Earlsdon Primary School children have collaborated to record a whole school version of the song "Unstoppable". Recording was done in individual classrooms and then combined into the final song.
The video shows some of the amazing things the children have been up to this year. They have proved that they are "unstoppable!".
We hope you enjoy the recording.

The children enjoyed a fun afternoon on Thursday when we welcomed the Olympic torch to our school. The classes have been learning about the Olympic Games, the Olympic values and making flags from the countries that will be competing in the Games. This Olympic celebration culminated in the children lining the streets and the school site to celebrate the arrival of the 1948 torch; there was lots of cheering chanting and the passing
traffic and pedestrians even joined in!
As we are approaching the end of term we would like to request that all reading books are returned to school by Friday 9th July which will allow us to audit our current resources and order new reading books where necessary. We are aware, that due to lockdown and remote learning, some families may have a bank of books carefully stored away, and we would like to request that these are now returned to school.
Once families have handed in reading books please continue to access the online reading schemes:

Thank you for your support with this colourful day in school. We
are delighted that we can donate to this local charity and help
local children– thank you. The children have been very excited
planning what they were going to wear and we have loved seeing lots of rainbow colours in school.
