This is where you will find all of the information that will keep you up to date with our latest events!
Fancy something a little different - Cosmic Yoga is a super little website and this link is linked to The Twits.
Dear Parents/ Carers
We hope you and your families continue to keep well and are adapting to the changes as we start to move out of lock down.
The wider opening of school
Routines in school regularly change as we respond to Government announcements and try to ensure that we work within the DfE guidance and adapt to the particular needs of our school community.
As such, we have welcomed back groups of reception children this week and they are learning and playing within their own small reception bubbles in all of the downstairs classrooms. (There are photographs of the classrooms and the zoned playground in the COVID-19 section of our website.)
Staff are also working hard to meet the needs of the changing groups of vulnerable children and children of key workers. We currently have seven ‘key worker bubbles’ in the upstairs classrooms and the vast majority of these groups and rooms are now full.
This leaves two available classrooms to respond to the wider opening of school to year 1 and then year 6 children. Further information about this will be sent home to parents over the next week.
Home learning
We continue to be impressed with the dialogue and examples of children’s work that are being shared on J2E, and want to thank you for your ongoing support.
Home learning plans for next week can be found in the Children section of our website.
The NSPCC have produced up to date information for parents on how to talk to their children about online safety. The link below provides guidance on parental controls as well as advice on online games and video apps.

Year 2, 3, 4 & 5 children
We recognise that the Government’s announcement this week about schools is disappointing for many families.
We look forward to hearing further announcements so that we can begin to plan for September. As yet we have not received any additional information –we usually only hear the information at the same time as you during the Coronavirus briefings- but please be assured that we will continue to work hard and remain flexible, to try to respond to the scientific research and guidance when it becomes available.
We will continue to share information through regular emails to parents and on our website, to keep you up to date with school plans and to signpost relevant local news.
The term dates for the next academic year are attached to this email and are also available on our website.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
With best wishes
Mrs Forde
New term dates have been added to the school calendar for the academic year 2020-2021.
If your child is in Reception and is coming back to school, please visit the Covid-19 section on the school website. Here you will find the faces of the Reception teachers so that you can familiarise your child with their new teacher during this time.
Thank you for your continued support.
Dear Parents/ Carers
We hope that you are keeping well and enjoyed a relaxing half term in the beautiful sunshine? The children who attended school during half term certainly enjoyed playing and having a picnic lunch outside each day.
The wider opening of school
As you are aware, school has remained open every week to support key workers and vulnerable children since the COVID-19 lock down began, including during the Easter holiday and May half term week.
As part of the wider opening of school during this pandemic, we are operating a phased return so that all necessary protective measures are in place and the process is managed with extreme caution and care. This means that it has been necessary to take a more gradual approach than the government initially indicated.
It is important that we respond to the unique circumstances of our school including taking into account our building, the size of our classrooms, staff availability and the increasing number of key workers within the community requiring places.
Over the last few weeks, we have been preparing for the wider opening of school and as such, have welcomed a larger group of children back this week.
School looks and feels quite different as the key worker children are based in small fixed groups in the upstairs classrooms and the downstairs classrooms are being prepared for small fixed groups of reception children. The children of key workers have been getting used to a new one-way system inside school and around the school building and trying to adhere to the new social distancing routines and behaviour expectations.
It has been lovely to have more children in school and we are very proud of the way they have adapted to the new environment and classroom groups.
We are looking forward to welcoming some reception children back to school next week as part of a phased return. We will then be reviewing procedures and the remaining classroom space to see how we can support the wider opening for small groups of children from year 1 and year 6 later this month.
Website updates
The home learning plans for next week are now available on the class pages of the school website.
A COVID-19 section is also available in the parents section of the website and this includes information and photographs of classrooms and the playground. There is also a short film, which may help children to understand the changes within school.
Please keep checking the latest news section as local news and information which may help parents and children, is regularly uploaded to this part of the website.
Thank you for working so hard to support your child's learning at home. Staff really appreciate the comments from you and the children and seeing their learning projects on J2E- you are all doing an amazing job!
Take care and keep safe,
Mrs Forde
