  • Book Trust

    Fri 07 May 2021

We are inviting the children to support the 2021 BookTrust
pyjamarama on Friday 14th May by coming to school wearing their pyjamas and bringing their favourite bedtime book
to school. Please help us my ensuring their book is named
and by ensuring that the children wear shoes and not slippers to school to enable them to move freely and safely
    around the site.

We would like to participate in this national event to help raise money for the UK’s largest children’s reading charity. BookTrust is dedicated to getting children reading and each year reaches 3.9 million families, providing books and support to help get children started on their reading journey. The pyjamarama event
aims to raise the profile of reading as well as fundraising to make sure that every child gets their bedtime story. We hope the children will be eager to support this event in school by wearing their pyjamas and bringing their favourite bedtime book to school on Friday 14th May. If you feel able to, we would also like to encourage families to donate £1 to BookTrust to support this charity to help all children to have access to bedtime stories. Parents can make a donation on the Gateway or send £1 into school on Friday.

Thank you in advance for your support

  • Governing body

    Fri 07 May 2021

We are very fortunate to be supported and challenged by a very dedicated, knowledgeable and skilled Governing Board which currently includes six parent governors.

The Governing Board has two co-opted governor vacancies and they are hoping to recruit two new governors from our local community. Co-opted governors are people
who in the opinion of the Governing Board have the skills required to contribute to the effective governance and success of the school. At this time the Governing Board would particularly
welcome someone with experience in health and safety or building surveying and someone to represent the BAME community. Interested volunteers will be co-opted on to the board by the Governing body rather than through an election as is the case with parents governors.

We are not currently looking to elect parent governors but instead were hoping that parents could encourage any friends, neighbours, local businesses or community members to support our school by becoming part of our Governing Board. Governors are asked to attend one meeting each half term and can get involved with a variety of other activities and projects within school if they feel able.

Please email the school with the details of any

  • NSPCC

    Sun 02 May 2021

We have been thinking about how to keep ourselves safe this week and we used the NSPCC Talk PANTS poster and short animation during our assembly.

Everyone loved singing along with Pantosaurus and he helped us all understand this important message.

If you want to find out any more information on how to support your child, please talk to a member of staff or download the relevant resources on the NSPCC website.
