  • Times Table Rock Stars

    Mon 06 Mar 2023
On Tuesday at 4pm we will be holding a short online
meeting open to all parents and carers of Year 2-6
children. Quick recall of multiplication and division facts can
have a huge impact on children’s attitude to, and
attainment in, maths. In Year 4 all children will take the National Multiplication Tables Check. The meeting will look at effective strategies to help children learn these facts, including using Times Tables Rock Stars. Here is the link to join the meeting at 4pm on Tuesday 7th March, but it has also been sent to parents in
    a separate emai

  • Take Two Art Project

    Thu 23 Feb 2023

We were delighted to welcome Cllr Welsh and Cllr Gittins to school this week to share the details of our Arts Council Collection initiative. Pupils in Year 5 and 6 did a fantastic job explaining what the artwork represents to them. The councillors enjoyed taking part in some drama activities to explore how the art works
    relate to each other.

  • World Book Day

    Thu 23 Feb 2023

We are looking forward to celebrating World Book Day in
school during the week beginning 27th February. During this week the children will have access to a range of book related activities and events including visits to Earlsdon Library, sharing books with other classes, listening to authors and working out who our mystery readers might be! They will also be invited to go along to our new pop-up library spaces; these will be an ongoing initiative which will be running throughout the year thanks to a grant that we have recently been awarded. Alongside these activities we are also inviting all children to take part in a bringand-buy book sale. We will be encouraging all children to donate one or two preloved books to the sale and to bring 50p to school to spend. During the week each child will have an opportunity to purchase a preloved book- money raised will go
towards replenishing and rejuvenating the library areas in school. Please bring book donations to school by Monday 27th February at the latest so that books can be organised and the sale can be set up for each class to visit. In addition, on Thursday 2nd March we are inviting all children to bring their favourite book recommendation alongside their favourite book to school to share with other members of their class and school community. We would love the children to decorate and make their book recommendations look eye catching and
exciting to read so they can be displayed in classrooms!
We have decided to have a break from dressing up for World Book Day this year as we recognise the additional
pressure this can place upon families. Thank you for your ongoing support and for helping us celebrate World
Book Day in school this year

  • Industrial Action

    Thu 23 Feb 2023

As you are aware members of the National Education Union (NEU) are due to take industrial action across the country in relation to the national pay agreement and how this should be funded by government, rather than by schools. The proposed dates for strike action by NEU members are:
    • Wednesday 1st March 2023 (West Midlands)
    • Wednesday 15th March 2023 (National)
    • Thursday 16th March 2023 (National).

We are currently in the process of assessing the impact that industrial action will have on staffing levels at our school on these days. As was the case on 1st February, it is possible that full or partial school closures may be necessary. You may wish to consider making alternative childcare arrangements for these
dates as a precautionary measure, even though they
may not be needed. We are working closely with our NEU colleagues to ensure we are updated with the most accurate
staffing information and will write to you as soon as possible.
Thank you for your support and understanding during this challenging time
