We really enjoyed working with our STEM partner last Friday, as part of our ongoing partnership project with the Royal Society. The children learnt more about the techniques and benefits of edible living walls and sowed lots of edible seeds ready to be planted out later in the Spring.
Thank you for your support and generosity with this national fundraising event. The children look so colourful in school today and have been learning about Comic Relief and the work that it does to support charities in the UK and further afield.
We were pleased to be invited to share some of the work we have been doing linked to being a School of Sanctuary. We are thrilled to be offering support to other Coventry schools as they embark on their journey to becoming Schools of Sanctuary.
Every year Jewish people from all over the world wear fancy dress to celebrate the beginning of the festival of Purim. This year, Purim fell on the night of Monday 6th March, to the evening of Tuesday 7th March. Purim is a festival when Jews remember Esther, who was the Queen of Persia more than 2,000 years ago. This festival is important to Jews as they are remembering that good overcomes evil, and they can apply this teaching to their own lives and actions
Congratulations to our gymnastics team and rowing team who both represented the school really well at the recent School Games tournaments.
To support the fundraising for this national event, we would like to invite the children to come to school wearing
bright colours on Friday. If families feel able to make a donation, we would welcome £1 per child. Following a change in
the age restrictions for red noses (they
are now 7yr+) we will not be selling them in school this year, however the children will be enjoying classroom activities and assemblies during the day. Thank you in advance for any
support you feel able to give to this charity event.
Thank you very much to our Changemakers who planned and ran a charity penalty shoot out on Wednesday. We were pleased to welcome players from Coventry United Women's Team.
Thank you for all the donations which the Changemakers will
be giving to the Turkey/Syria Earthquake Appeal and to Coventry Foodbank.
We are incredibly proud of our robotics teams for qualifying for Nationals. They were great competitors at the event which
took place over two days at the Telford International Centre.
Many congratulations to our team who won the National
Amaze Award. The judges were extremely impressed with the pupils' engineering skills and their consistently high performance
throughout the tournament
Thank you to those parents and carers of Year 2-6 children who attended the multiplication and division fluency meeting on Wednesday. In particular for Year 4 parents and carers, information was shared about the national online Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) which the children will take in June and also information about the ways you can help your child prepare for it. For those of you who were unable to attend, and for those who were asking about access to the slides, here is the link to the slides on the website. We are currently second in the Times Tables Rock

is in Years 3 to 6 please can you encourage them to
complete regular short timetables practise on TTRS to
help with their fluency and to help Earlsdon win the
competition
