Earlsdon Primary School

This is where you will find all of the information that will keep you up to date with our latest events!

  • Bank Holiday

    Sun 18 Sep 2022

Following the announcement that the Queen’s funeral will be held on19th September 2022, Earlsdon Primary School will be closed on Monday. Across the school during the last week we have spent time reflecting on Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s life and the huge impact that she has had on the people within theUnited Kingdom, the Commonwealth and the wider world.
We know that for some in our school community, the very sad news of the Queen’s death may bring to mind other bereavements amongst friends and family. If you require any additional support, please contact school using the parent email address.

  • Year 5 and Year 6 Active Lunches

    Sun 18 Sep 2022

Year 5 and Year 6 pupils have enjoyed their first active lunches this week. The pupils walk to Spencer Park one lunchtime each week. After their picnic lunch, they enjoy free time in the park, either playing sport or relaxing in the fresh air with their friends.
The pupils have been a real credit to the school and their behaviour, both on the walk to the park and whilst at the park, has been outstanding.

  • Walk to School

    Sun 18 Sep 2022

We are very pleased to let you know that Earlsdon
Primary School is taking part in the national Walk to
School Challenge. From next week, all pupils will be asked how they travelled to school each day. If they have had an active journey e.g. walked, cycled, come by car but parked 10 minutes away, they will get a point. If the children travel to school actively once a week for a month, they will get a badge. In September,
children will need to travel actively once next week and once the week after to achieve their first badge. By taking part in the scheme, we hope to promote healthy lifestyles and reduce pollution and traffic in our local area.

  • Welcoming our Reception Children to school

    Sun 11 Sep 2022

We are thrilled to be welcoming our two new classes of chil
    dren into school next week.
The children will enjoy their part time sessions (either morning
or afternoon) in school on Monday– Wednesday and then
they will be staying for lunch on Thursday and Friday.
This means that the reception children will come to school at
9am for the morning session and the afternoon group of children will be collected at 3pm.

Please bear with us as we invite parents of the reception children onto the school site at 3pm– the other classes will not be ready to be collected until their normal time 3.10/3.15pm so
please continue to wait outside school until this time.
Thank you for your support as the youngest children settle
    into school.

  • Welcome Back!

    Sun 11 Sep 2022

We have had a super week in school and are thrilled with the way the children have settled into their new classrooms and enjoyed getting to know their new teachers and year group staff. Thank you for your support in preparing the children for their return to school– they all look very smart in their uniforms!
We are looking forward to the year ahead and all of the learning, activities and school events we will enjoy!

We are delighted to inform you that Mrs Ronchetti got married over the summer holiday and she has returned to
    school as Mrs Scott.

  • Returning to school

    Tue 26 Jul 2022

The first day back to school for the children is Tuesday 6th September.

During the first week of term we will be exploring the theme of welcome as we embrace being in a new year group and to help build upon everything we have learnt this year through our School of Sanctuary and community work.

We are saying farewell to our Year 6 children- the Class of 2022. The children are very talented, resilient, resourceful and enthusiastic- we are thrilled with the progress and personal development they have made during their journey through Earlsdon primary. We will miss each and everyone of the them but know that they are moving on to brilliant secondary schools where they will flourish and embrace new opportunities. Good luck Year 6 and thank you for the wonderful memories you have left with us.

  • Staffing Update

    Tue 26 Jul 2022
    • We have been delighted to welcome Miss Blunt back to school after the birth of her son and her maternity leave. Miss Blunt has been back in school this week and will be working alongside Mrs Rawlings and Miss Murray in Year 4 next year.
    • In addition we have all been thrilled to welcome Miss Georgiou back to school during the last few weeks. Miss Georgiou has enjoyed spending time with children from across the school and has been getting to know the Year 4 children who she will be teaching next year in Year 5 alongside Miss Ashmore.
    • We would like to thank Mr Whitehead for all of his hard work over the last 18 months. Mr Whitehead has taught several classes at Earlsdon primary due staff absence or maternity leave. He has been very hardworking, flexible and enthusiastic with the children and we wish him all the best as he moves onto pastures new.
    • We are also saying farewell and thank you to Miss Wykes and Mr Rogerson. Miss Wykes has been supporting teaching and learning in school in her role as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant during the last 8 years. She has supported children in small groups, on a 1:1 basis and when teaching whole classes. Miss Wykes has built strong relationships with children and staff and we wish her all the best as she embarks upon a change of career.
    • Mr Rogerson has worked in the school office for 7 years and is always helpful, supportive and knowledgeable. He joined Earlsdon within an apprenticeship role and has displayed his many skills when supporting children, staff and parents. He has reduced his hours over the last few years as he has embarked upon an English degree, but now needs to devote more time to his studies as he moves into his final year. We wish him all the best with the exciting challenges ahead.
