This is where you will find all of the information that will keep you up to date with our latest events!
We know how hard you have been working at home and we know that it is strange doing school work at home and not at school. We want to tell you how proud we are of you and the hard work that you and your family have been putting into your home learning. The hard work, effort and energy is wonderful. Keep working hard, we think that you are wonderful!

J2E Tips
You might have noticed a new icon on your J2E Dashboard – J2Message.
This is a brand new tool that lets you securely send a short message (a bit like a text message!) you would like your teacher or class to see.
It’s a good way of letting everyone know what you have been up to.
If your teacher adds a message, you will get a pop up when you login to tell you.
All messages are recorded and can be seen by teachers - please make sure that we remember to use kindness and respect when writing.
This week is Mental Health Awareness Week, this is a video provided by Newsround with the key message of kindness.
Dear Parents
As you know the government are asking primary schools to start planning for a wider opening from the week commencing 1st June.
We are grateful to the parents of reception, year 1 and year 6 children who have been in touch to let us know their intentions at this point.
Government advice states that if necessary settings have the flexibility to focus first on continuing to provide places for priority groups (children of critical workers and vulnerable children) and then to prioritise other groups of children- reception, year 1 and year 6.
Our school capacity will allow children to work in groups of 8-10 in fourteen classrooms (the halls will be used as one- way corridors).
This limits the number of children that the school can safely reintegrate.
In order to support our planning, we now need all parents who are critical workers to confirm that their children require a place in school. It is important that we know which days are required for your children on a weekly basis. We will also need an email from a manager at the place of work to confirm that parents are critical workers and cannot work from home.
The government has provided this information about critical workers:
We apologise for the short notice but we have a very tight time scale to work through in order to respond to the regular updates that we receive and to support future planning.
Please email this information by 9am on Thursday 21st May to: admin@earlsdon.coventry.sch.uk
Thank you for your continued support.
Best wishes,
Mrs Forde
Phonics play is free at the moment and has some great interactive games.
Dear Parents/ Carers,
We hope you are well?
Thank you to all of the children and families who have been engaging with some super home learning this week- we have loved hearing about it and seeing some of the work you have shared on J2E. You are all doing an amazing job! Next week's home learning plans are now available on the year group pages of the school website. Please also keep an eye on the Latest News section of the website as we try to upload any information or useful guidance for parents that we receive.
As you are aware, earlier this week the government published guidance about schools planning to welcome more children back, starting with Reception, Year 1 and Year 6.
The guidance for this to begin is as soon as it is safe, but this is only if certain conditions are met e.g. concerning health and the current “R” value. The government will be reviewing the data and will also be issuing schools with further guidance.
At this time, we are working very hard, with the Local Authority, to plan how we might be able to follow this guidance to welcome back more children, whilst ensuring safety is the top priority. We appreciate you will have lots of questions and concerns. We are working on this as quickly as we can to put the best possible plans in place and to provide you with the information you need- thank you for your continued patience whilst we seek clarity and further information.
During next week we will be sending a letter to the parents of Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 children asking them to inform us if they are likely to take up an offer of a place for their child in school. Whilst we appreciate that parents responses can only be based on the information we are able to provide at this point, it will be a really helpful first step for us with our planning.
Thank you so much for your continued support and understanding; it is very much appreciated.
We hope you enjoy the sunshine over the weekend and the opportunity to spend more time outside now that the lockdown requirements have changed.
Take care and keep safe.
Best wishes
Mrs Forde
