  • Staffing update

    Mon 25 Oct 2021

We are saying good bye to Miss Taylor this week as she has accepted a promotion and will be starting a new job working as Activities Coordinator at a local care home. Miss Taylor has supported our children for over 12 years and will be missed by everyone. She has enjoyed sharing her creative talents with the children as well as many opportunities for dressing up– most recently as Red Hiding Hood’s grandma! We wish her
well as she embarks upon her new career.

We are delighted to welcome a new Teaching Apprentice to join our staff team this week. Mr Kumar is looking forward to getting to know the children and supporting them in the classroom and with their P.E and learning outdoors. In addition, we are thrilled to welcome Miss Reidmann to our school from Ausberg University. Miss Reidmann is a German teacher who will be on placement at Earlsdon for the rest of the Autumn term.

  • Free School Meals

    Mon 25 Oct 2021

Even if your child prefers a home packed lunch or
has a free lunch provided by school (as all Reception, Year 1 and 2 pupils receive meals through different funding) it is important that you register for Free School Meals if you are in receipt of the
agreed benefits. Please contact the school if you need any more information about this. School is allocated additional funding that can be spent on extra staff to support the children as well as providing financial support to families for school trips and other activities. Registering for FSM will also ensure that your family receive free school
meal support during school holidays– families in
receipt of FSM have received a supermarket
voucher for this October half term.
Please take the time to apply. Should you apply and
qualify, your child will still be able to have a home
packed lunch if they wish to do so and therefore do
not have to have free school meals in school.
    Apply at:
    www.coventry.gov.uk/applyforfreeschoolmeals

  • Lord Mayor Visit

    Mon 25 Oct 2021
We were delighted to welcome the Lord Mayor, Councillor John McNicholas, to our school last Friday to present
the Peace Award. As you may remember, we were the first school in the city to be awarded the Peace Award last
year as a result of the teaching of peace and reconciliation throughout our curriculum and the additional focus
we have on well being and support in school. Unfortunately, due to COVID restrictions we have been unable to receive our award, so we were delighted that we could all gather together on the playground on Friday afternoon and welcome this important visitor to our school. The children sang beautifully and were proud ambassadors for our school – it was a super
event for everyone and great that we couldall meet together outside in the sunshine

  • Harvest Celebrations

    Mon 25 Oct 2021
This week the children have supported the Together with Refugees cam
paign. Inspired by the refugee nation flag and the colours of a lifebelt, they
used orange hearts to symbolise hope and kindness. The children have
written messages of welcome and support for refugees and considered how
to show empathy and compassion. Over half-term these messages will come
together to make one huge heart. Thank you for supporting our non-uniform day this week– we are delighted
that with your generous donations we have been able to raise £496.53 which will go towards
purchasing scooters for refugee children through Carriers of Hope. On Wednesday 27th October, Coventry welcomes Little Amal. After walking through the city, Little Amal will witness the first Children’s Citizenship Ceremony and Celebration. The children at school have been following her journey since September and during half term they may enjoy celebrating her arrival to our city

  • Date for your diary

    Thu 21 Oct 2021
School will close for children on Thursday- 21st October, as Friday is a staff training day. School will then reopen on Monday 1st November after the half term holiday.

  • PE Sports Clubs

    Thu 21 Oct 2021

P.E lessons will continue on the same days next half term
and we would like to request that the children continue
to come to school wearing their P.E clothes. Thank you
for your support in ensuring that the children wear a P.E
kit in our school colours. This includes black, navy or grey
leggings/ tracksuit, a white or navy t-shirt and a black,
navy or grey sweatshirt. Please do not send the children
into school wearing clothing with large sports logos– a
navy school sweatshirt would be great. Thank you
Many children have enjoyed the after school sports clubs
this half term. The children in Year 2, Year 4 and Year 5
will have the opportunity to book onto the clubs for next
half term; more information will be sent to parents
shortly. Places will be allocated on a ‘first come, first
served’ basis so please book a place for your child when
you receive the email. Thank you.

    pre-school children this year.
