Dear Parents,
Thank you for your continued support. As you may be aware, schools heard the announcement about closure at the same time as you all did. We are now extremely busy trying to prepare and respond to this news.
We will continue to keep in contact vis our school wesbite, so please keep checking for updates. If you have changed your email address recently or need to add another, please email the school office to let them know.
Staff will be working hard over the next two days to create weekly learning packs for the children in each year group. These should be available and ready to use on our school website from tomorrow afternoon. These can not replace face to face teaching but will allow the children to keep their brains and bodies active and busy whilst they are not at school. Each child will be given an A4 exercise book to bring home which they can complete the work in. Some activities will be online and others will be tasks to be copied into their books.
So far my understanding is that, in the first instance, all schools will remain open for children of key workers, vulnerable children and those with EHC Plans. We do not yet have a definitive list of which jobs qualify as 'key' but have been promised this today from the Government. Once this is established, we will be sending you some communication which we would like a prompt response to so that we can start to get an idea of how many children may still be at school next week. Please look out for this later today and respond promptly.
Our role will primarily be to provide care and not education for these children so we will be planning a range of activities for them to take part in as well as allowing them to access the work packs on the website so they have the same opportunities as those children staying at home.
I hope this all makes sense and apologise for the huge amount of information.
Please stay safe and well at this unusual time,
Rhona Forde
Dear Parents
Thank you for your support during these challenging times.
We continue to follow advice from the Department of Education. This has been updated and advises that:
We continue to support children with their hand hygiene including washing their hands and using the hand sanitisers in their classrooms.
Please continue to access further information at Public Health England or at NHS111.
Thank you and kind regards
Rhona Forde
