Earlsdon school will be celebrating science week during our first week back after the Easter break. Your child has been told about Earlsdon's Great Science Share, whereby they can carry out research or investigate a curious question and then bring their presentation to share at school.
Please check your emails for further information.
We will hopefully be enjoying some warm and sunny weather when we return to school next term. Please take time to ensure that your child’s sweatshirts and cardigans are clearly named so that when they remove them around school, we are able to return them to the correct child. In addition, we are continuing to see some children come to school wearing sports clothing that is not in the school colours. Please support our P.E uniform policy by ensuring that the children wear a white t– shirt, navy or black sweatshirt (their school sweat shirt is ideal) and plain navy or black tracksuit trousers, leggings or shorts to school on their P.E day. Thank you to the PTA for the very kind donation that was delivered to school this week– 300 glue sticks! Staff and children were delighted to receive their class room supply. |
We are very excited to be part of the DfE Opening Schools' Facilities project which will enable us to run more after school sports clubs next year. It has also provided us with additional equipment including three table tennis tables, archery sets and boxercise equipment. We have been awarded a Go Parks commission which will enable us to run inclusive tennis sessions at Spencer Park. We have also been asked by the LTA to run a city-wide deaf tennis festival in Deaf Awareness Week in May. |
We were very pleased to take all Year 4 pupils to King Henry VIII School this week for some robotics sessions. The children really enjoyed learning about engineering and coding and having a practical experience of robotics |
We were delighted to be invited by the British Museum to help them develop a new national learning programme based on a virtual reality quest. Pupils in Year 4 were able to give feedback to the British Museum's education manager on the materials and they have given some valuable input into the design of the programme. We have been invited to test the proto type later in the year |
Other very exciting news is that we have been nominated for Primary School of the Year in the National Teaching Awards and that have been shortlisted for a senior judges' panel interview. This week the children have been busy helping us to make a short film to showcase all the fantastic learning and opportunities at our school. |
We were delighted to welcome some players from Coventry United Ladies Football team to join our assemblies on Monday. The players shared their own experiences including when their
