We were delighted to be invited to take part in a Year 4 Olympics
event at King Henry's School. Well done to the pupils who
represented Earlsdon and who got some fantastic results especially in the long jump and the high jump. A special congratulations to Ivy who came first overall in the girls' competition
Thank you very much to our Changemakers who are doing a fantastic job of supporting participants at the inclusive tennis sessions at Spencer Park after school on Tuesdays.
There will be a session in half term on Tuesday at 3.30pm.
Come along and have a go!
Well done to our Key Stage 2 archery team who represented the school in a competition last week. We are delighted that they won the competition—we are looking forward to presenting their gold medals in school next week.
We have had an amazing 'Green Week'! The children have enjoyed a range of very exciting activities including litter picking, learning about the importance of bees, workshops on sustainable travel, learning about the school energy usage, visiting the allotments, making eco-craft, forest school workshops, organic food tasting, visiting Coventry Canal Basin to learn about plastic pollution, bughunting in the front garden and visiting our nature themed pop up library! Lots of planting has also been going on around school- thank you
so much for all the generous plant contributions; they are much
appreciated. Thank you also to everybody in the local community
who have donated plants and given up their time to make this
week such a success.
Please remember to label all of your son/ daughters school sweatshirts and cardigans. As the weather improves, the children are more likely to take their jumpers off and leave them around school. We are only able to return sweatshirts to the correct children if they are clearly labelled with a child’s name. Thank you for your ongoing support |
We had a range of exciting entries to the Great Science Share in which the children investigated their own curious question before presenting their project to their class. Well done to everyone who took part. All children in school also took part in our whole-school investigation to find an answer to the important question of
'Which is the best biscuit for dunking?'. The children
worked collaboratively to plan and carry out a fair test and after comparing the results, we can announce that the rich tea biscuit is the best 'dunker'!
After the success of Green day last year, we are thrilled to be organising a Green week in school where we will be focussing on learning about how we can protect the environment and considering how we can improve our school. We are starting the week by inviting the children to come to school
wearing anything green on Monday 15th May. The children could wear a full green outfit or just a green pair of socks, whatever they have available to them. We are not asking the children to make a monetary donation to come to
school in non school uniform on 15th May, but instead would really appreciate donations of outdoor plants
(flowering or edible) so that we can refresh our sensory garden and school grounds. Thank you in advance for your support and generosity
Year 1– Year 6 children will be having their sports day at King Henry V111 school during the morning on Wednesday 12th July. The Reception children will enjoy a separate sports day on the playground during the same week. More information will follow later this term– please put the date in your diary |
Well done to our Year 5 Changemakers who supported at the Deaf Awareness Week tennis festival. They were excellent representatives of our school |
