The festival of Shavuot begins on Saturday 4th June and ends at nightfall on Sunday 5th June 2022. Shavuot is a Jewish festival celebrated 50 days, around 7 weeks, after the first day of Passover. It is a period of commemoration to remember the day that God provided the Torah to His people on Mount Sinai. Shavuot is also known to be a Harvest Festival, as a former tradition was for Jewish people to bring Bikkurim (the first and finest fruits) to the Temple in Jerusalem as a gift to God |

A huge well done to Mrs Bollands who has been awarded a Silver Teaching Award in recognition of her role within the partnership with The Royal Opera House’s Create and Dance
Programme, Coventry Schools, the Local Cultural Education Partnership (CCEP), Coventry City Council and Coventry City of Culture. Mrs Bollands, collaborated with the partners to
assemble schools across Coventry and address a perceived gap in inclusive dance provision. This led to a variety of online events during the pandemic such as professional development sessions and a 'Live Assembly' with Principals from The Royal Ballet.
Most recently the partnership has enabled a programme of activity for all Coventry schools including an invitation to join a live streamed Everybody Dance!’ workshop in preparation for
World Book Day, as well as schools being invited to watch a performance of Romeo and Juliet at The Royal Opera House in February. Well done Mrs Bollands– we are thrilled that her
hard work and collaboration has been recognised with this Silver Award.
