  • Pearson National Teaching Award

    Tue 27 Jun 2023
We are delighted to announce that we are the Bronze Winner in the category of Primary School of the Year in the Pearson National Teaching Awards. This huge achievement is due to the dedication and hard work of all the staff, the engagement of the children, and the amazing support from our families and wider
community. We celebrated this with a very special whole school assembly at which the children presented staff with plants that they had grown especially for them.

  • Refugee Week 2023

    Tue 27 Jun 2023

As a School of Sanctuary, we are proud to show our support for
Refugee Week 2023. This year the theme is 'Compassion' and our aim is to make sure all children understand what this looks like in action, to ensure that we are extending it widely to all. During the week, the children spent time looking at different sanctuary themed books and responded through discussion, music, art, poetry or dance. To spread compassion within our school community our Welcome Committee hosted a coffee morning for newly arrived families and within our local community by making 'Welcome to Coventry' packs for the Coventry Refugee and Migrant Centre. On Friday, the children showed their support by wearing something orange (inspired by the lifebelt) and donated money to be split between Carriers of Hope, CRMC and Schools of Sanctuary. Year 6 children also sold orange hearts, which represents hope, an image developed with refugee organisations and people who are refugees themselves. Thank you to all the families that donated recipes towards our 'Cook For Coventry' recipe book- we were so pleased with the
range and diversity of the recipes collected
