On Thursday 23rd Reception children will be taking part in Elmer day, so they are invited to wear multicoloured clothes to school to celebrate 35 years of Elmer. We welcome the rest of the children to wear comfy clothes for Book Trust and can bring their favourite book to school, to share with their peers. £1.00 donations will be going to our charity of choice.

  • Chinese Language Culture Day

    Mon 16 Jan 2023

Our Language of the term is Mandarin Chinese.
We are looking forward to celebrating this on 19th January with a whole school Chinese language and culture day to coincide with Chinese New Year. On the 19th January, we would like to invite the children to wear something red to school and our chef
and the kitchen staff will be cooking a special Chinese
themed menu at lunchtime. The children will be taking part in different activities throughout the day and will be working with language teachers from Finham Park Secondary School
and Coventry University. If you would like to come into school and share an aspect of Chinese culture with your child's class, then please speak to the class teacher so a suitable time can be
    arranged

We are keen to keep parents up to date with their children’s learning and try to share this information in a variety of ways including on our weekly newsletters, during parent/ teacher meetings (6th & 8th February) and also using the termly curriculum information overviews. • Coventry Building Society

    Wed 11 Jan 2023

Coventry Building Society has made a generous donation to schools to support families during the cost of living crisis. We are keen that families benefit from some of this additional financial support, and as such we need your help.
We would like to use this donation to support parents by providing a supermarket voucher or payment for a school trip. School is aware of the families who access free school meal funding, however we are also aware that many other families are also struggling with the rising costs of food and bills. If you would like to be considered for some additional support
please email the school office; we are keen to make sure that this kind donation supports as many families as possible.

    Thank you

  • Morning Routines

    Wed 11 Jan 2023

As many parents are aware, we open the side gate at 8.40am so that the children can wait on the school path rather than on Earlsdon Avenue North. The school day begins at 8.45am and the children from breakfast club and those who arrive at this time walk into school, put their belongings away and then
    start their early morning challenges.

School staff are on the path from 8.40am—9am to welcome children into school. The side gate will close at 9am.
At 9am classroom registers and meal choices for
lunchtime are taken; lessons begin straight after this has been completed.

If children arrive after 9am they will have to sign in
through the main school entrance and they will miss
their early morning challenges which may include
completing learning from the previous day, practising
key maths facts, spellings and handwriting.

We would like to encourage families to arrive just
after 8.45am to give the children time to put away
their belongings, complete an early morning task and
feel settled and ready for the day ahead.
Thank you for your continued support
